Dr. Michelle Messner
Dr. Messner started working for Dr. John Toth in April of 1993 and on January 1, 1994, she became the practice owner and the name Creekside Animal Clinic came into being. She truly likes being in the N.E. Ohio area… well, maybe not the cold part 🙂 Dr. Messner looks forward to every day spent working with her patients, clients, staff, associates, and colleagues at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital. She has three children (so far, not one has shown an inclination to be a vet), and she is a teaching Black Belt in Taekwondo. She also teaches SCUBA diving with a local dive shop.
Dr. Amy Cummings
Dr. Cummings grew up in Wadsworth and West Akron and started working at Creekside while in high school. After graduating from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, she moved to Utah and practiced there for several years. Family eventually drew her back to North East Ohio, and she joined the team at Creekside in October of 2013. Dr. Cummings has years of experience in both general practice and emergency medicine. She enjoys surgery and educating her clients so they can become the best pet parents they can be. Dr. Cummings currently lives in New Franklin with her husband, Tim, her sons, Sutter, and twin boys, Marcus and Davis, a black Lab named Wrigley, two rotten cats, and two dozen laying hens. In her free time, which she never seems to have, she enjoys jogging, reading, and drinking wine.
Dr. Brian Crane
Dr. Crane joined the Creekside team in January 2014. He was born and raised in North Dakota and came to us when his wife, Dr. Ashley Crane, took a position at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital. He did his undergraduate at the University of Nebraska and then went on to Iowa State University for vet school. His wife, Dr. Ashley Crane, also joined our practice in 2019! They have two children, daughter Ellie, son Jack; five cats named Arnold, Curtis, B, Squeak, and General Custer; and one dog: Diaper. Dr. Crane’s hobbies include exercising, movies (particularly older ones), and sampling recipes with his wife.
Dr. Ashley Crane
Dr. Ashley Crane hails from Iowa – the REAL Midwest. She met her husband, Brian, in veterinary school at Iowa State University. After graduating, the Cranes moved to Ohio, where Dr. Ashley started an internship at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital. She stayed on and worked with the neurology service for several years prior to practicing primary care. Dr. Ashley still enjoys neurology, however, she most enjoys the relationships she builds with clients from the time she sees their pet as a puppy or kitten until their pet is a senior citizen. Dr. Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, watching and re-watching Game of Thrones, cheering on the Green Bay Packers (we are working on that! Go Browns!), and defeating her husband in fantasy football.
Dr. Megan Vessalo
Dr. Megan Vessalo joined our staff in 2018. She went to vet school at Ohio State University and graduated in 2010. She then went on to do a small animal rotation internship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Vessalo is happy to be back home in Ohio with her husband and son after living in South Carolina for a few years.
Dr. Lisa Perry
Dr. Lisa Perry has come full circle! Dr. Lisa grew up in the Seville /Wadsworth area and worked at Creekside during her summer breaks from school. She attended the University of Findley and Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her degree in 2013. She has been practicing in private practice since and has taken a special interest in Senior patient care and Integrative medicine including Acupuncture and Laser therapy. Dr. Lisa in her free time if she gets any enjoys spending time with her husband Jon, son Owen, reading, hiking and HITT training. She has a pet family 2 dogs Scout and Sage and 2 3-legged cats Oscar and Rev.
